Welcome to Y2 Barbara Hepworth!
If you can dream it, you can do it!

Welcome to Year 2. This page will hopefully keep all of our pupils and their parents up to date with new events and information about homework, the Year 2 curriculum and other exciting things that you might need to know about. Thank you for supporting our learning. In Spring 1 we become 'Explorers' where we will be learning all about different habitats as well as the different animals that live in them. We will be learning all about how humans and animals are adapted to survive and live in their habitats. We will also be looking at food chains. In Literacy, we will be writing our own ending to Finding Nemo, writing a poem based on the Rumble in the jungle and creating our own post cards to send to Meerkat mail. For our Geography focus we will be exploring our world to find continents and seas. At the end of the half term, we will be showcasng Dioramas of our favourite habitats for parents to come and look at. In Spring 2 our topic will be 'Is it ever dangerous to go to hospital?' which will give us the oppertunity to research and explore the life of Florence Nightingale. Also we will be learning about healthy eating and will be creating our own eat well plates. The children will be then be learning about parts of their body and why it is important to look after themselves. We will be using Adobe Video to create our own documenteries on the life and achievements of Florence Nightingale.
