Welcome to Year 2. This page will hopefully keep all of our pupils and their parents up to date with new events and information about homework, the Year 2 curriculum and other exciting things that you might need to know about. Thank you for supporting our learning. Autumn Term 2 and Spring Term 1, we become 'explorers' where we will be learning about how humans and animals survive in their habitats. In Literacy, we will be writing our own version of Finding Nemo, writing a poem based on the 'Rumble in the Jungle' story and also creating own postcards to send to 'Meeerkat Mail'. In topic, we will be learning about how different animals are adapted to their homes and the different food chains within those habitats. Our 'guiding principle' will be creating dioramas of their chosen habitat. Our geography focus is exploring continents and the seas. Our topic in Spring 2 will be 'Are hospitals ever dangerous to go to?' which will give us the opportunity to explore the history of the life of Florence Nightingale. We will also be learning healty eating and living, creating an 'Eat Well Plate'. We will also be learning about how the body works and its different body parts. We will be using Adobe to create our own documentaries on the life and achievements of Florence Nightingale.
